Int'l.painting competition in Russia : DU student's artwork selected as best

' KARTINA' in Russia The painting titled '' The Craftsman '' by Arani Hossain Athai, a student of the 2018-2019 session of the Department of Drawing and Painting under the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, has been selected as the best in the international painting competition titled 'MIRA'. This international painting competition for young artists was recently held in Samara, Russia.
St. Petersburg University, Rector Nikolay Mikhaylovich Kropachev presented a certificate and honor to Arani Hossain Athai at a ceremony held at the university's State Tretyakov Gallery on June 24, 2026.
The accomplished student met with Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam on Sunday..The Vice Chancellor sincerely congratulated Arani Hossain Athai for being selected as the best artist in the international painting competition. He said that the Dhaka University family is very happy and proud of his achievement.
