
JCD launches free Hepatitis- B vaccination programme at JU

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Unit organised a free Hepatitis B vaccination program on Saturday, aligning with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) 31-point agenda, specifically its 26th point emphasizing “health for all and universal healthcare.”
The day-long event, held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM adjacent to the university cafeteria area.
According to JU JCD, a total of 30,000 vaccine doses will be administered in three phases to ensure full immunization against Hepatitis B. The campaign includes blood sample screening from May 10 to May 21, followed by the vaccination drive from May 14 to May 22.
The first dose of the vaccine will be distributed during this period, with subsequent doses to follow as per the immunization schedule.
Addressing the event, Convener of JU Chhatra Dal Jahir Uddin Mohammad Babar said, “Under the guidance of our organizational leader, Tarique Rahman, and with the supervision of the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, we have launched this Hepatitis B vaccination program for all students of Jahangirnagar University. The screening process began today, and vaccinations will commence on April 14, continuing until April 22 for the first dose.”
“Through this program, we aim to raise health awareness among students and protect them from Hepatitis B.” he added
