JU forms probe committee to investigate alleged data breach

Jahangirnagar University administration has constituted a three-member fact-finding committee to investigate allegations of sharing student information with a student organization on Friday.

The administration made this decision  during an emergency administrative meeting held at 10:00 pm on May 16.

The committee, headed by Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahidur Rahman of the CSE Department, includes Professor Dr. Emdadul Islam and Md. Rezaul Alam, Programmer at the ICT Cell, as member secretary. 

In a press release, the University administration denied the allegations of sharing student information with any student organization and  urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the investigation. 

Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin, Acting Director of Public Relations said, “We hope we will be able to dispel any doubts regarding the administration’s sincerity in addressing this matter.” 

The committee has been tasked with submitting a report within eight working days.
