Md. Samiul Haque Sayem, Kalai (Joypurhat)

Organized by the Kalai Upazila Administration under Joypurhat district, on the occasion of celebrating July Mass Uprising Day 2026, wreath-laying and prayer (Ziyarat) were performed at the grave of July martyr warrior Rita Akter at 9:00 AM on Wednesday.

Following this, at 10:00 AM, a discussion meeting highlighting the significance of the day under the theme 'Julayer Chetonay Gorbo Desh - Sobar Age Bangladesh' (We will build the country with the spirit of July - Bangladesh above all) was held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium (New Building), organized by the Upazila Administration.

The meeting was presided over by the newly appointed UNO. Faisal Ahmed, supervised by the Administrative Officer of the UNO Office Md. Mahbub Alam, and anchored by the CA of the Upazila Parishad, SM Showkat. Assistant Professor (Arabic) of Hatiyor Kamil Madrasa, Maulana Md. Salim Reza, recited from the Holy Quran at the event.

Important speeches were delivered at the discussion meeting by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdullah-Al-Mahbub, Kalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam, Acting Principal of Kalai Degree College Md. Rezaul Karim, Principal of Kalai Technical and Business Management College Md. Taiful Islam Fita, Convener of Upazila BNP Md. Ibrahim Hossain Fakir, Joint Convener of Upazila BNP Md. Moudud Alam, July warrior of the upazila Md. Tanim Sarkar, President of Kalai Model Press Club Md. Lutfar Rahman, among others.

At one stage of the program, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions previously organized on the occasion of the day. Present at that time were Principal of Kalai Government Women's College Md. Najim Uddin, Kalai Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Harunur Rashid, Acting Headmaster of Kalai Moyen Uddin Government High School Md. Saiful Islam Bokul, Director of Joypurhat Chamber of Commerce and former Chairman of Ahmmedabad Union Parishad Md. Abul Khair Ghulam Maowla (Proprietor of M/s Riva Traders and M/s M R Filling Station Kalai, Joypurhat), among many others.
