KOICA delegation meets DU VC : Discussion on launching PhD program at NIANER

A 5-member delegation led by Professor Dr. Tae-Wa Lee of Yonsei University College of Nursing, Korea, met with the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam at his office on Wednesday.

The other members of the delegation are - Deputy Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh and Bhutan, Dr. Jong Yun of Yonsei University College of Nursing, Seunga Cho, Program Manager of KOICA Bangladesh and Bhutan, and Md. Noor Chowdhury, Program Officer of KOICA Bangladesh.
At this time, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Nadim Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Sciences and Research, Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Al Hasan, Director of the Public Relations Department, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, College Inspector (Acting) AKM Amzad Hossain, Director of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) Nahid ul Mostaq, and Director of NIANER, Deepali Rani Mallick were present.
The meeting discussed the possibility of starting a PhD program in nursing at the National Institute of Advanced Nursing Education and Research (NIANER) under Dhaka University, with the support of KOICA.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam thanked the members of the KOICA delegation for coming to Dhaka University and expressing deep interest in the education and research activities of this university. He emphasized on increasing the scope of cooperation in education and research with renowned educational institutions of the world to improve the quality of research.
