Scholarship of Tk 2.16 lakh awarded to 90 students of DU Marketing Depat

90 meritorious students of different batches of the Marketing Department of Dhaka University have been awarded ' MGI-MAA Scholarship'. Each student has received a scholarship of Tk 24,000. Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon was present as the chief guest at a program organized at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium on Wednesday and distributed scholarship checks among the students. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam spoke as the chief patron. Dhaka University Marketing Alumni Association ( MAA) and Meghna Group of Industries ( MGI) jointly organized this program. This scholarship is provided from the income of a permanent fund of Tk 1 crore titled `MGI-MAA Scholarship` .
The scholarship distribution ceremony was presided over by the President of Marketing Alumni Association, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashraful Islam Chowdhury. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani and Chairman of the Marketing Department Prof Dr. Sirajul Haque were present as special guests and Meghna Group of Industries Director Barrister Tasneem Mostafa was present as the guest of honor. Marketing Alumni Association General Secretary Khandaker Md. Rafiq Hasan delivered the welcome speech.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam called on the alumni of the university and the wealthy people of the society to cooperate with the students in higher education and research and said that attention should be paid to ensure that no meritorious student's studies are hindered due to financial problems.
Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the talent and skills of the youth should be utilized for the development of the country. The population should be transformed into skilled human resources through technical and work-oriented education. Students should acquire skills in modern technology.
