Legal Aid Day celebrated in Jhenaidah

Legal Aid Day was celebrated in Jhenaidah with various arrangements under the slogan 'End of disputes over government expenses, Bangladesh first'.
On Tuesday at 9:30 am, the District Legal Aid Committee inaugurated the day's program by releasing pigeons and balloons, symbols of peace, at the District and Sessions Judge's Court premises.
The program was inaugurated by District and Sessions Judge Md. Emran Hossain Chowdhury. Deputy Commissioner Noman Hossain was present at the time.
Later, a colorful rally was taken out to mark the day. The rally circled the important roads of the city and ended at the same place. The guests visited the blood donation program after the rally. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the District and Sessions Judge's Court.
At that time, District Legal Aid Committee Chairman and District and Sessions Judge Md. Emran Hossain Chowdhury, District Legal Aid Officer Avantika Roy, Superintendent of Police Mahfuz Afzal and others were present.
The speakers at the meeting said that the government is determined to ensure legal aid services for helpless justice seekers.
The District Legal Aid Office said that 2,250 legal aid applications were received in the district in the last one year. Out of these, 1,112 complaints were resolved by the Legal Aid Office through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Apart from this, 912 disputes were resolved by the Legal Aid Office through other means.
Apart from this, 526 legal advices have been provided by the District Legal Aid Office at government expense this year. Out of these, 400 female and 126 male beneficiaries have taken these legal advices.
