Mithamoin Job Fair: 300 unemployed youths, women get jobs

Kishoreganj Correspondent

Under the theme “Migrants’ Rights, Our Commitment: A Discrimination-Free Bangladesh for All,” a day-long job fair in Mithamoin, Kishoreganj, resulted in 300 unemployed youth and women securing employment.

On Tuesday (May 20), the job fair was virtually inaugurated by Additional Secretary (Estate Project) Meer Zahid Hasan at the Mithamoin Technical Training Center (TTC) hall. Organized by the TTC, the event saw 500 unemployed youth and women register for free at various booths throughout the morning.

By 4 p.m., representatives from RFL, Vision, and USEP companies completed the selection process, shortlisting 300 candidates for jobs. The selected individuals will join various companies in Gazipur on June 15 and will receive travel and daily allowances from the respective companies.

Meghla Akter (20), one of the job recipients, shared, “Alongside my studies, I took training at TTC. I had attended interviews elsewhere without success. Getting a job today after interviewing at TTC makes me incredibly happy.”

College student Jisan Mia (21) said, “I previously went to the city for job interviews but didn’t succeed. Getting a job today through an interview at a local institution is beyond joyful.”

Mithamoin TTC Principal Md. Shahjahan Mazumder stated, “No one remains unemployed after receiving training. At our TTC, we provide free training, certificates, stipends, and assist with job placement through job fairs. Today, we successfully facilitated jobs for 300 individuals.”
