Chhatak (Sunamganj) Correspondent

A new executive committee has been formed at the Chhatak Upazila Press Club in Sunamganj. Shah Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, Chhatak correspondent of the daily Samakal, has been elected president, and Mosharraf Hossain, Chhatak correspondent of the daily Amar Desh, has been elected general secretary.

Mahmud Alam, head of the five-member election management committee and Mohona Television's Chhatak correspondent, announced the names of the newly elected committee at the Chhatak Upazila Press Club office on Wednesday night.

The other members of the committee are: Vice-President, Daily Edin Chhatak Correspondent Nur Uddin and Daily Amar Sangbad Chhatak Correspondent Moshad Ali, Joint General Secretary, Daily Jay Zay Din Chhatak Correspondent Nazmul Hasan Jewel, Organizing Secretary, Daily Bangladesh Bulletin Chhatak Correspondent Sajjad Mahmud Monir, Co-Organizing Secretary, Daily Bhorer Chetna Chhatak Correspondent Fazal Uddin, Finance Secretary, Daily Sangram Chhatak Correspondent Lutfur Rahman Shaon, Office Secretary, Daily Sunam Kantho Chhatak Correspondent Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Publicity and Publication Secretary, Daily Janakantho Chhatak Correspondent Ajit Kumar Das, Information and Technology Secretary, Daily Kaler Kantho Chhatak Correspondent Abu Bakar Siddique Chowdhury, Literature, Cultural and Sports Editor, Daily Matri Jantar Chhatak Correspondent Ashfaqur Rahman Sayem, and Religious Affairs Editor, Daily Janatar Zamin Chhatak Correspondent Maulana Zubair Ahmed.

Juned Ahmed Runu, Chhatak correspondent of the daily Prabhat Bela, Tajidul Islam, Chhatak correspondent of NTV Europe, and Jamrul Islam Reza, Chhatak correspondent of the daily Amar Sakal, have been elected as executive members.

The leaders of the newly formed committee said that their priorities will be to enhance the professional skills of journalists, further accelerate the activities of the organization, and protect the rights and welfare of local journalists. They seek the cooperation of the journalist community, the administration, and people from all walks of life in implementing this goal.
