With the cooperation of the District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission and organized by the District Corruption Prevention Committee, on Monday at 10:00 a.m., integrity stores were set up in two schools of the town and opened for students. First, the integrity store was inaugurated at Collectorate School and College, run by the Deputy Commissioner, and later at Abdus Salam Talukder Academy.
The chief guest at the event was Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan, while the special guests were Md. Aminul Islam, Deputy Director of the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, and Md. Moniruzzaman Nasim Ali, senior journalist and President of the Corruption Prevention Committee. The event was conducted by Khaleda Akter Hena, General Secretary of the Corruption Prevention Committee.
In his chief guest’s speech, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan said, the biggest problem in our country is corruption. We must come out of it. We must become honest and principled people. This society greatly needs honest and ideal individuals. The integrity store is a test of honesty for you. I believe you will pass this test.”
Md. Aminul Islam, Deputy Director of Combined District Office of ACC told the students, you will buy notebooks, pens, pencils, or food items like biscuits, chocolates, or cakes from the integrity store. Look at the price on the product and put the money in the cash box. There is no shopkeeper here. This store will move forward based on your honesty in paying for the items you take. We must all be honest, and I believe you can do it.”
In his speech, Md. Moniruzzaman Nasim Ali, President of the District Corruption Prevention Committee, said, you are our future generation. You must become honest and ideal citizens. There is no alternative to honest and principled citizens for building a beautiful future.
The head teachers and teachers of both schools were present at the event. The program ended with prayers and supplication.
