Lalmonirhat District Police have achieved major success in two separate operations against drugs and robbery.
In the first operation on Thursday police arrested a man named Md. Milon Miah (35), a suspected drug dealer. He was caught near a mosque in the Umapati Harinarayan area with 2 kg of cannabis (ganja). A case has been filed against him.
In another operation a day earlier (August 27), police arrested four robbers red-handed in the Boro Bari cattle market area. The arrested men are Md. Sohag Hossain, Md. Ratan, Md. Aminul Islam, and Md. Mostafizar Rahman. Police recovered the stolen cash of 90,000 Taka and the sharp knife they used.
All arrested individuals have been sent to court. The local community has welcomed these actions. Police said they will continue such operations to stop crime. They also asked for the public's help by sharing any information.
