RAB officer commits suicide inside Ctg Bahaddarhat camp

The deceased was identified as Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Palash Saha, 37, who was serving at the camp under the RAB-7 battalion.
According to RAB sources, the incident took place around 10:30am while ASP Palash was preparing for an operation. He had taken his issued firearm and entered his office room.
Moments later, colleagues heard a gunshot and rushed to the spot, where they found him with a bullet wound to the head. His service pistol was lying on the floor, and a suicide note was found on the table, said Senior ASP (Media) of RAB-7, ARM Muzaffar Hossain.
He was immediately taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the RAB official added.
Further details will be available following the autopsy, officials said.
