
Robbery at a businessman's house in Barisal: 3 members of inter-district robbery gang arrested

Three members of an inter-district robbery gang have been arrested by RAB-8, Barisal, in connection with a daring robbery at a businessman's house in Banaripara, Barisal.
RAB-8 reported that on May 5 (Monday) at 2:35 PM, an operation was conducted in the area under the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station in Barisal district, during which three accused involved in the robbery were arrested. The arrested are: Md. Selim Shikder (53), father: Nurul Islam Shikder, Barguna Sadar; Md. Badsha Sardar (45), father: Md. Aziz Sardar, Banaripara, Barisal; and Dalim Hawladar (48), father: deceased Nazrul Islam, resident of Indrer Hawla village under the same police station.
RAB stated that in the deep night of April 22, a horrific robbery took place at the house of businessman Md. Mizanur Rahman alias Babul (25) in Dakshin Baishari village of Banaripara upazila, Barisal. The masked robbers, threatening with native weapons, assaulted and intimidated the family members, and looted gold ornaments, cash, and mobile phones worth approximately 2.243 million taka.
After the incident, the victim filed a case with the police station, and the investigating officer sought assistance from RAB-8 for arresting the suspects. Later, RAB-8 conducted an investigation using modern technology and managed to arrest the three individuals.
RAB further stated that the arrested individuals are involved in robbery, theft, and banditry in various areas and have multiple cases against them. Based on the information obtained from their interrogation, operations to recover the looted items are ongoing.
