
Savings certificates, cheques distributed to families of martyrs, injured of Mass Uprising in Gopalganj

Gopalganj District Administration has provided financial assistance to the families of martyrs and the injured from the July-August 2024 mass uprising on Tuesday afternoon at a program held in the Transparency Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman handed over savings certificates to the families of the martyrs and checks to the injured individuals.
At the event, each of the families of six martyrs from Gopalganj received a savings certificate worth Tk 10 lakh and 20 injured individuals were given cheques of Tk one lakh taka) each.
Also present at the ceremony were Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman, Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Said Md. Faruq, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Swarnendu Shekhar Mandal, Director of Gopalganj Medical College Hospital Dr. Premananda Mandal, Superintendent of the 250-bed hospital Dr. Jibitesh Biswas, Additional District Magistrate SM Tarek Sultan, along with officials and staff from various departments of the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman said, "This support for the martyrs and the injured of the mass uprising is a reflection of our respect and gratitude for their sacrifice. We promise to stand by them in the future as well."
Members of the families of the martyrs and the injured were present at the event and expressed their gratitude for this initiative by the district administration.
