SUST students protest killing of Imam Rais Uddin, demand justice

A human chain was held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Wednesday demanding justice for the killing of Imam Maulana Rais Uddin, who died as a result of mob violence and alleged police negligence while in custody. The demonstration, organized by university students, took place in front of the central library at 12:30 PM. Among the participants were students Rezaul Karim Juwel, Azad Shikder, Sazzad Hossain, Zahid, and others. During the protest, students called for the immediate formation of an investigation committee to identify those involved in the incident. They also demanded a speedy trial and urged the state to take responsibility for the ongoing support and welfare of Imam Rais Uddin’s family.
