Syed Russel elected President of Rangpur Sadar Union BNP

The council and election of Haridebpur Union BNP No. 2 of Rangpur Sadar Upazila was held in a peaceful atmosphere recently.
Saiful Islam, Convener, Rangpur District BNP was present as the chief guest at the event.
Anisur Rahman Laku, Member Secretary, Rangpur District BNP Adv Shafi Kamal, senior leader of Rangpur District BNP, Joint Conveners of Rangpur Sadar Upazila BNP, and more than a hundred leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliate organizations were present as special guests.
At the beginning , the opening session was held with the recitation of the Quran, the playing of the national anthem and the hoisting of the party flag. Then the introduction of the candidates was held and later the voting began. Election results: President: Syed Abdur Russell (symbol: drum) received a total of 180 votes, his opponent Md. Shafiqul Islam (symbol: elephant) received 134 votes. Md. Ashraful Khan Shanto won the senior vice-president position unopposed.
Md. Hafizur Rahman Master, nominated for the post of Vice-president, and Md. Suruj Mia (symbol: lock) received 188 votes for the post of general secretary, while his opponent Md. Harun Lar Rashid (symbol: horse) received 178 votes and Morsalin Mia was elected unopposed for the post of Joint General Secretary. Md. Shams Kabir (symbol: wall clock) received 220 votes for the post of organizing secretary, while his nearest opponent Md. Shahidul Islam (Shahid) (symbol: wheelbarrow) received 158 votes.
