
Trawlers carrying Indian cattle seized in Tahirpur border

Trawlers carrying Indian cattle smuggled via waterways along the border have been seized by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday.
Two separate raids were conducted by Battalion-28 under Sylhet Sector BGB, in the border areas of Tahirpur and Dowarabazar upazilas in Sunamganj. In these operations, multiple Indian cattle shipments were intercepted.
From the Kachuachhara haor bank area of the border, the BGB patrol team of Birendranagar BOP in Tahirpur seized a steel-bodied trawler loaded with 18 Indian cows.
In a separate operation, the BGB patrol team of Bashtola BOP in Dowarabazar seized another 14 Indian cows.
According to Lt. Colonel AKM Zakaria Kadir, commanding officer of 28 BGB Battalion, Sunamganj, the estimated value of the seized trawlers and cattle is approximately 3.02 million BDT.
