Trucks loaded with cattle crossing Daulatdia Ghat without any congestion

There is still about a week left for the Qurbani. In the meantime, the pressure of livestock trucks has started to increase at the Daulatdia Ghat in Rajbari, an important gateway to the southwest, and on the Paturia waterway in Manikganj.
However, despite the increased pressure of livestock trucks, the vehicles are now able to reach the ferry directly without long waits and suffering. This is a joy for cattle owners, traders and drivers.
Such a scene was seen at the Daulatdia ferry terminal on Sunday at around 1 pm.
According to BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat sources, 1,638 vehicles have crossed the river using this ghat in the last 24 hours. Of these, 221 were passenger buses, 659 were cargo trucks, 718 were small cars and 120 were motorcycles.
Md. Hasmat Sheikh, a cattle trader who came by truck from Meherpur, said, "There has been no trouble at the pier since the Padma Bridge was built. This year too, we have not had to get stuck in any traffic, we can directly reach the pier and board the ferry."
Another businessman, Nuru Sikder, said, "There has been no trouble at the ghat for the past 2-3 years. Before the Padma Bridge, there was trouble at the Daulatdia ghat. Many cows have fallen sick in the car in this intense heat after waiting for hours for the ferry.
Cow owners Khorshed, Shah Alam, Akkas and others said that they are going from Meherpur to Mohammadpur in Dhaka with 25 cows. There is no traffic jam on the Daulatdia road. They came directly to the ferry pier by truck. However, two years ago, they had to wait for hours for the ferry.
Hamidul Haque, the driver of the cattle truck, said, "I am going to Dhaka from Meherpur with 25 cows. I have reached the ferry pier without any difficulty.
BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Branch Assistant AGM Mohammad Salah Uddin said, the water in the river has started rising.
