Two children drown in Baraigram

Two children died after drowning in water in Baraigram upazila of Natore on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place around 1:00 PM in Purnakalsa village under Gopalpur Union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Md. Arafat Rahman (11), son of Mintu Hossain, and Nur Mohammad (10), son of Raju Ahmed, both residents of Purnakalsa village. They were neighbors and students of the third and fourth grades at a local school.
According to local sources, the two children went to bathe in a pond beside their houses around 11:00 AM. When they did not return home for a long time, family members began searching for them. Later, seeing their clothes on the bank of the pond, relatives became suspicious. After searching in the pond, the children were found unconscious and rescued.
