
Two drug smugglers held with foreign pistol , 20,000 yaba worth Tk 1crore in Teknaf

Two drug smugglers were arrested with one foreign pistol and 20,000 yaba tablets worth Tk ine crore in Teknaf.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid disclosed this information in a press release on Tuesday afternoon .
According to the press release, based on secret information, on Monday night, 23 June 2025, at 11:00 PM, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf in the Keruntoli area under Teknaf Thana. During the operation, the movement of a motorcycle in the area was deemed suspicious, prompting the Coast Guard operation team to stop the motorcycle. Upon searching a bag carried by the rider, 20,000 yaba tablets worth Tk 1 crore were recovered. Additionally, a foreign 7.65 mm pistol, one pistol magazine, and five live rounds were recovered from the waist of the motorcycle rider during a body search, and 2 drug traffickers were arrested.
Legal procedures are underway regarding the seized items and the arrested drug traffickers.
To maintain law and order in the country, Bangladesh Coast Guard has enforced 24-hour patrols. As a result, law and order and prevention of drug trafficking in coastal and riverside areas under the Coast Guard's jurisdiction have significantly improved. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to combat drug trafficking.
