
Two machines seized, Tk 50,000 fined for illegal sand extraction in Dimla

A mobile court has seized two machines used for illegal sand extraction and fined a tractor involved in sand transportation Tk 50,000 within a span of two days at Dimla in Nilphamari.
It is learnt that on Saturday, a machine was seized under the supervision of the upazila administration for illegally extracting sand in Dakshin Sonakhuli Mouza of Jhunagachh Chapani Union.
On the other hand, on Friday afternoon, a raid was conducted in the Bhatiapara area of Nautara Union on the Nautara River, where a machine used for illegal sand extraction was seized, and a tractor involved in sand transportation was fined Tk 50,000 under the Balumahal and Soil Management Act 2010.
These operations were conducted UNO and Executive Magistrate Imranuzzaman and Assistant Commissioner (Land)-Executive Magistrate Farzana Akhtar. The Dimla Thana Police assisted in the operations. The upazila administration has stated that these operations will continue in the public interest.
