National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener and MP Nahid Islam said, "If there is an attempt to rehabilitate fascists in the name of the Liberation War, March 7, Sheikh Mujib or anything else, then we will not accept it."

He said this in a speech before an Iftar Mahfil in Faridpur on Saturday. The Faridpur divisional Iftar Mahfil was organized at the historic Ambika Maidan in Faridpur city on the initiative of NCP.Faridpur District NCP convener Dr. Bayezid Hossain Shahed presided over the function, and Mohammad Nahid Islam, MP from Dhaka-11 constituency and Chief Whip of the Opposition in the National Parliament, spoke as the chief guest.

Nahid Islam said, the July mass uprising is being targeted through various plans through the media. Since August 5 and since this election, there has been a widespread attempt to rehabilitate the Awami League with the government's shelter and green signal. For that purpose, various news, information and misinformation are being disseminated. Efforts are being made to rehabilitate the fascist Awami League through various processes and methods across the country.
He said, we want to say very clearly - there is no forgiveness for fascists. The trial of fascists and the trial of the accomplices of fascism will take place on this Bengali soil, InshaAllah. We will stand against those who will become obstacles in this path. The people of Bangladesh will stand against them.
“The Liberation War is part of our glorious history,” said Nahid Islam, commenting, but those fascists who have ruined the aspirations of the Liberation War have been trying to legitimize all their misdeeds—looting, genocide, disappearances, murder—for the past 16 years by using the name of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the name of March 7, and the name of the Liberation War.Nahid Islam said, we want to warn such miscreants—there will be no benefit in such misdeeds. Let us stand for reform, let us stand for justice, let us stand for building a new Bangladesh.Criticizing the activities of the 18-day-old current government, Nahid Islam said, “You can tell by looking at the clouds whether it will rain or not; you can tell by looking at the sky at the beginning of the day how the day will go. It has been clear from the beginning of this government in which direction they want to take Bangladesh and how they want to manage it.”Nahid Islam said, after the July Uprising, a much-awaited election was held. But that election was also tarnished; that election was questioned in various ways.
