World Red Cross, Red Crescent Day celebrated in Gopalganj

On the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2025, a colorful rally and discussion meeting were held on Thursday in Gopalganj.
The event was organized under the theme “Together for Humanity” by the joint initiative of the District Administration and Gopalganj Red Crescent Unit.
In the morning, a vibrant rally was brought out from the unit office in Gopalganj. Members of the Red Crescent, volunteers, government officials, and representatives from various organizations participated in the rally. It paraded through important roads of the city and ended at the “Swachchhata” conference room.
The discussion meeting was graced by the presence of Muhammad Kamruzzaman, District Commissioner and Joint Secretary of Gopalganj, as the chief guest. Special guests included Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman and Deputy Director (Local Government) Biswajit Kumar Pal (Deputy Secretary). The meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir.
Speakers highlighted the importance of the humanitarian work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and called for public participation in providing humanitarian services. They stated that the Red Cross and Red Crescent have been providing invaluable assistance during disasters and crises both at home and abroad. The speakers also discussed the core principles of this movement: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
