269 helpless families get aid at Sherpur DC's public hearing

A total of 269 underprivileged and helpless individuals received immediate cash assistance during a regular public hearing hosted by the Sherpur District Administration.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Farida Yasmin presided over the hearing at the DC office conference room on Wednesday.
During the session, 294 service seekers from various parts of the district presented their grievances, applications, and welfare requests directly to the district administration. Following immediate evaluation of their claims, cash financial aid was granted to 269 applicants on the spot from district administrative funds.
Among the other submitted petitions, 16 sought corrugated iron sheets for shelter repair, five applied for sewing machines, four requested house allocations, four asked for wheelchairs, two filed job applications, and one each applied for a van and a tube-well. Additionally, 10 applicants requested inclusion under widow and old-age allowance programs.
DC Farida Yasmin listened to the grievances of the attendees and instructed concerned department officials to execute necessary relief measures based on the merit of each application. Local residents lauded the public hearing initiative for providing direct administrative access and prompt welfare assistance to grassroots communities.
