The meeting of 'Abhibhabok Oikko Forum ' was held on Thursday afternoon, at Motijheel Kitchen Yard Chinese. The meeting was presided over by the President of the Forum, heroic freedom fighter Md. Ziaul Kabir Dulu.
Speakers included General Secretary and parents of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Md. Selim Mia, President of Ideal Abhibhabok Forum Ahsan Ullah Manik, Convener of Mugda Branch A S M Alamgir, Mrs. Akhtar Suraiya Chowdhury, G M Ashraful Alam, Saiful Islam, Mrs. Dilruba Khan and others.
In the meeting, a demand was made to dissolve the current governing bodies of all private educational institutions in the country and to hold elections in schools, colleges, and madrasas. Alongside this, they also demanded the dissolution of the present ad-hoc committees and assigning responsibility to the Deputy Commissioner (Education) to take effective measures.
The meeting also demanded ensuring quality teaching in classrooms and stopping teachers’ coaching business. It was further decided to hold a human chain program in front of Ideal School and Viqarunnisa Noon School to implement the government-fixed tuition fees.
