Police arrested Awami League leader Zaman Chowdhury in Patnitala, Naogaon. He is serving as the general secretary of the Akbarpur Union Awami League in the upazila.
According to police and local residents, he was arrested in front of his market located in Madhail Bazar of the upazila on Thursday at around 12:30 pm. Zaman Chowdhury is the son of the deceased Kashimuddin of Chowdhury Para, Akbarpur Union.
Patnitala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman said, "Awami League leader Zaman Chowdhury has been arrested as an accused in a case at Mahadevpur Police Station. Further legal action will be taken through the Naogaon District Court on Thursday afternoon."
