
Blood donation, free medical camp held in Durgapur

On the occasion of the "July Renaissance Program-2025," a blood donation program and free medical camp were organized in Durgapur, Rajshahi on Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Upazila Parishad premises.
Jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and Upazila Health Complex, the program saw over a hundred people receiving healthcare services. The spontaneous participation of the general public in the blood donation and free medical camp was notably remarkable.
Present at the camp were Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Sabrina Sharmin, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Muhammad Ruhul Amin, Residential Medical Officer Dr. Mehedi Hasan, Medical Officer Dr. Tajul Islam, Emergency Department Medical Officer Dr. Sharmin Sultana, and Upazila Poverty Alleviation Officer Nazrul Islam, among others. Volunteers from the BD Clean Durgapur Upazila branch also provided support.
UNO Sabrina Sharmin stated, “Such welfare initiatives increase awareness among people and make healthcare more accessible. Blood donation is a noble act that should be encouraged as a humanitarian responsibility. The Upazila Administration will always stand by public service initiatives.”
According to the organizers, the medical camp provided free blood pressure and diabetes tests, along with necessary medicines, to attendees. Patients also received essential advice from doctors. In the blood donation program, willing individuals voluntarily donated blood, which will be preserved for patients in need during emergencies.
Officials involved stated that the event aimed to enhance health awareness and engage the general public in humanitarian initiatives.
