BNP Media Cell Convener Dr. Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel has said that while many big leaders who held top positions have betrayed the party during adverse times, the common people and grassroots workers and supporters have never betrayed the BNP. He made the remarks while speaking as the chief discussant at the party's 48th founding anniversary discussion organized by the district BNP at the Shaheed Titu Auditorium in the city on Saturday noon.

The meeting, chaired by Md. Rezaul Karim Badsha, MP from Bogura -6 (Sadar) constituency and District BNP President, was moderated by District BNP Organizing Secretary Shahid Un Nabi Salam.

Recalling the contribution of grassroots leaders and activists at the discussion meeting, Dr. Pavel directly said, "Grassroots leaders and activists are the real strength and lifeblood of BNP. Even though big leaders who have attained positions and titles have been dishonest, the common people and grassroots workers at the field level have never left BNP." He further added that despite enduring jail, oppression, remand and severe economic losses in extremely adverse circumstances for the past 17 years, this grassroots has maintained the party's core ideology.

Highlighting the political decisions of the party's founder, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, Dr. Pavel said, "There was a kind of left-leaning political environment in the country when the BNP was founded. Shaheed Zia created a timely platform by combining the religious sentiments of the people of the country, liberal political thinking, and free market economy. By adding 'Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim' to the constitution, he paved the way for Islamic values, which was something only he had the courage to do at that time."

Regarding the party's plans in the current context, he said that Deshnayak Tarique Rahman is working tirelessly to properly evaluate the leaders and activists of the Trinamool and restore the state's economy. The process of gradually rehabilitating them in various sectors and providing them with experience, who have been deprived of work opportunities for 17 years, is currently underway.

The speakers present at the rally gave a clear message, saying that Ziaur Rahman, Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman are the main symbols of Bangladesh's sovereignty, unity and national integrity. As a result, this strong mass base of BNP cannot be destroyed by any conspiracy or propaganda.

BNP Chairman's advisors Adv A. K. M Mahbubur Rahman and Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, Bogra City Corporation Administrator M. R Islam Swadhin and Bogura Zilla Parishad Administrator A. K. M Ahsanul Tayyab Zakir, Central Executive Committee member Ali Azgar Talukder Hena, VP Saiful Islam, Joynal Abedin Chan and Naogaon University Vice Chancellor Prof  Dr. Md. Hasanat Ali were present as special guests in the discussion meeting.

Also present were Bogra district BNP leader Fazlul Bari Talukder Belal, Dr. Shah Md. Shahjahan Ali, Sadar Upazila BNP president Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel, district Jubo Dal president Jahangir Alam, district Swechchhasebak Dal president Sarkar Mukul, district Chhatra Dal president Habibur Rashid Sandhan and general secretary MR Hasan Palash, along with leaders of BNP and its affiliate organizations.
