The body of a 4-year-old child who went missing after falling into the Sutang River in Holdiura village of Paikpara Union, Chunarughat Upazila, Habiganj, was found on Thursday morning after three days.
The body was found about 3 kilometers away from the place where the child went missing, in the Badragazi area. Later, locals recovered the body.
The child is the daughter of expatriate Sabuj Mia from Holdiura village.
Locals say that on Monday afternoon, child Munthahar went missing while washing hands by the Sutang River near their home. Later, fire service personnel from Chunarughat conducted search operations in the Sutang River on two separate days but found no trace of the body. This morning, locals spotted the body caught on a tree trunk in the Sutang River about 3 kilometers from the incident site. After receiving the news, Munthahar’s relatives identified the body and recovered it.
