Md Mobarak Hossain, General Secretary of Narsingdi Press Club in a rejoinder said a news item  was published against him on Tuesday (  August 5, 2025)  on the 8th page of The Country Today which is  completely false, fabricated, and intentionally motivated. He  strongly protested  the report.

He said, I began my career in 1992 as the Narsingdi District Correspondent for the Daily Dinkal. At present, I am  is serving as a Staff Reporter.  I also worked for four years as the Narsingdi District Correspondent for a television channel named Channel One. Since 2012, I have  been working as the Narsingdi District Correspondent for Ekattor Television. At present, I holds the position of General Secretary of the traditional Narsingdi Press Club. 

To our knowledge, Mobarak Hossain has never worked anywhere as a private tutor or stayed anywhere as a lodging boarder. As he is known in Narsingdi district as a journalist with a BNP background, there is no question of him being a trusted associate of Awami League Minister Lt. Col. Nazrul Islam Hiruu. His father began his career as a Sub-Assistant Engineer at UMC Jute Mills and retired as an Assistant Engineer. 

For about 25 years, I  have  been a registered contractor with the Water Development Board under the name Messrs. M.H. Enterprise. The same company has been a contractor for the Health Department for the past 12 years. He is an established contractor who regularly pays income tax and VAT to the state. We believe that building a house from his earnings over 25 years is not abnormal. 

Regarding his outsourcing contracting, his statement is that each employee has a separate bank account in which their allowance is deposited. They withdraw the money themselves by cheque, and no one else has the opportunity to withdraw money using their cheque.

It should be noted that the reporter of the said news, M.A. Awal, was expelled from the general membership of the Narsingdi Press Club by the Executive Committee due to his unethical activities and various allegations. 

Later, when the matter of his expulsion was raised at a general meeting of Narsingdi Press Club, he was permanently expelled from general membership by unanimous decision. In retaliation, The Country Today’s Narsingdi Correspondent M.A. Awal, being angry with the General Secretary, first posted false information on Facebook and later started publishing various types of false news in different newspapers.
