Discussion on various demands including opening of Science and Tech University in Satkhira, railway visibility

A 'discussion meeting' was held on various important issues including the launch of Satkhira Science and Technology University activities, making the Satkhira railway visible, and improving the district's communication system.
The meeting was organized by the Satkhira Science and Technology University Implementation Movement Council, Sundarbans University Satkhira District Implementation Committee, 'Satamer Debaite Satkhira City Corporation' and Samridhat Satkhira District Implementation Council at 10 am on Saturday (September 19) at the Satkhira Journalist Club Hallroom.
A discussion meeting was held.
Adv. Abdul Majid was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Satkhira Journalists Club President SM Mahidar Rahman and moderated by Adv. Abdullah Al Habib, Maulana Abdul Bari, former principal of Jhowdanga Islamia Fazil Madrasa, spoke as the main speaker.
At this time, the speakers said that the full academic activities of Satkhira Science and Technology University must be started quickly. In addition to the demand for the appointment of a VC, the university's academic activities must be started quickly, as well as the appointment of necessary teachers, officers and employees, and at the same time, necessary measures must be taken to manage academic and administrative activities smoothly, and everyone must work together to implement the reasonable demands of the people of Satkhira.
Special guests who spoke on the occasion included Sheikh Alamgir Ashraf, PP of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal Satkhira, Additional PP of Satkhira George Court Ad Akbar Ali, Additional PP Ad ABM Selim, Satkhira Journalist Club Sadha Editor Mir Abu Bakar, Assistant Professor of Kumira Women's College Noor Mohammad Par, eminent social worker Sheikh Mohammad Jahangir Hashemi, lecturers SM Rajab Ali, Abdus Samad and others.
Speakers at the meeting said that Satkhira, although a potential border district of the country, has been lagging behind the desired development in various fields for a long time. It is necessary to implement the long-standing demands of the district for education, communication, urbanization and economic development.
The speakers especially demanded the prompt resumption of academic activities of Satkhira Science and Technology University, recruitment of necessary manpower and full implementation of the university's infrastructure and administrative activities. In addition, the demands for the establishment of Sundarbans University in Satkhira, implementation of rail connectivity and upgrading Satkhira to a city corporation were also raised.
The speakers said that if rail connectivity is introduced in Satkhira, it will open new possibilities in business and commerce, agricultural product transportation, tourism and people's movement. Similarly, if higher education institutions increase, students in the district as well as the greater southwestern region will benefit.
Hafiz Maulana Abul Hossain recited the Quran at the event.
