Md. Mafiz Uddin Sarker, Rangpur
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “We believe that if we can let democracy run properly, then development will be possible. But democracy does not want to run. The opposition party, playing its previous role, has now started speaking Hasina's language.”
He said this while participating in a program to provide assistance to the underprivileged organized at the 'Rangpur Shilpakala Academy' on Sunday noon.
The US-based charity organization Love Share BD, implemented with its own funds, inaugurated the self-reliance project for the underprivileged and handed over 25 tea houses to 25 underprivileged people in the Rangpur region with the aim of improving and supporting the quality of life of the underprivileged.
At the time of speaking Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also said that people of Rangpur exercise their votes for Jatiya Party or Jammat when BNP is in power. So he said sadly, "How is it possible for Rangpur's development ? "
The event was chaired by Zahid Khan, Director of Love Share BD, and was attended by Senior Secretary and Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as special guests. Other speakers included Shamsuzzaman Samu, Chairman of Rangpur Development Authority, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Reserved Women MP Rebecca Sultana Fanci, District Council Administrator Saiful Islam and others.
The speakers expressed their hope that such a humanitarian and public welfare initiative to stand by the destitute and empower them is undoubtedly worthy of praise.
