Professor Maulana Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Barishal District and Jamaat-nominated Member of Parliament candidate for Barishal-4 (Hijla-Mehendiganj-Kazirhat) constituency, said that the desired state-building by the people is only possible through the Islamic system of governance. Only Islamic ideology-based leadership can move the nation towards stability and development.
He further said that since independence, the country has sometimes been ruled by nationalism, sometimes by secularism, and sometimes by socialist ideologies. In reality, due to the lack of governance based on the Qur'an, the country has turned into a haven for bribery, corruption, murder, terrorism, and anarchy.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an election preparation meeting organized by the Hijla Upazila Jamaat at the Upazila office on Sunday.
The meeting was presided over by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Nurul Amin and conducted by Upazila Secretary Syed Gulzar Alam. He called upon all Jamaat leaders and activists to remain active in the field ahead of the upcoming election and to stand by the people in their suffering and hardship.
Special guest at the meeting was district Jamaat's working committee member and Secretary of the Election Steering Committee of Barishal-4 constituency Advocate Zahir Uddin Yamin.
Among others present were Upazila Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Harun-or-Rashid, member of the District Jamaat’s publicity-media team Mujahidul Islam Yusuf, Upazila Jamaat’s working committee members Md. Farid Uddin, Md. Khalilur Rahman, Principal Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Maulana Abdus Samad, Lecturer Redwan Ullah and Master Yasin Helal.
Various levels of responsible leaders from the Thana and Union Jamaat were present.
