 An ousted 45th BCS recommended candidate has issued a heart-wrenching public appeal seeking justice and administrative review after being excluded from the officially published cadre gazette.

The candidate, who cleared the preliminary examination in 2023, the written examination in 2024, and was recommended for a cadre post by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) in 2025, expressed profound distress over finding his name omitted from the final 2026 gazette notification following years of academic dedication.

In his appeal, the candidate shared that he was set to become the first BCS cadre officer in his family, bringing immense hope to his ailing parents and siblings. Relying on his recommendation in the 45th BCS, he chose not to attend the viva voce for the 46th BCS despite passing its written exam, while previously missing out in the 48th BCS viva despite securing competitive written marks.

The excluded candidate questioned the grounds of his omission, asserting that he has no criminal charges or personal political affiliation against him. He noted that his family faced years of political, social, and mental adversity due to his father's affiliation with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) during the previous 16–17 year regime. He demanded a transparent, fair evaluation and official explanation for his exclusion rather than sympathy.

Detailing the psychological toll, the candidate expressed anguish over his inability to face his elderly, ill parents after years of isolation and rigorous study at his medical campus to build a career in public service.

He submitted a fervent plea to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, and relevant government authorities to conduct an impartial review of his background verification and restore his recommended status, emphasizing his constitutional right as a citizen to serve the nation.
