
One-barrel gun, fresh cartridges seized in Coast Guard operation in Shyamnagar

The Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted a special operation near the Maundee River area in Shyamnagar Upazila, Satkhira, and recovered a one-barrel gun along with two rounds of fresh cartridges. Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam Ul Haque confirmed this information in a press release on Thursday morning
The press release stated that based on a secret tip-off, on Wednesday (July 30) around 4 p.m., an investigative team from the Coast Guard’s Western Zone in Koikhali carried out a raid near the Maundee River area in Shyamnagar Upazila. When the team signaled a suspicious individual to stop, he tried to flee. In response to the team’s call to surrender, the individual fired two blank shots. While fleeing, he abandoned a bag and escaped into the Sundarbans. The bag was later searched, and inside it, the team recovered a one-barrel gun and two rounds of fresh cartridges. Legal proceedings are currently underway regarding this matter.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard regularly conducts operations to maintain law and order and ensure public safety. These efforts will continue in the future.
