Plantation in festive atmosphere at Bharateshwari Homes in Mirzapur

A tree plantation was conducted at Bharateshwari Homes, a women's educational institution in Mirzapur, Tangail.
UNO ABM Ariful Islam inaugurated the planting of fruit and medicinal saplings as the chief guest on Wednesday.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Zulfiqar Haider, Bharateshwari Homes Principal Mandira Chaudhary and teachers were present.
Let the future generation develop with one child, one dream and flowers, this is the slogan, Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque's instructions and to create public awareness to combat the impact of climate change, said Education Officer Md. Zulfiqar Haider.
UNO A.B. M. Ariful Islam said, Bharateshwari Homes is a women's educational institution. The quality of education, sports, rules and discipline and cultural aspects here are well-known in the country and abroad. Under the direction of the Investigation Administrator, a tree plantation was carried out here with the students in a festive atmosphere.
Earlier, fruit-forest and medicinal saplings were planted simultaneously in 54 secondary schools, 14 madrasas and 10 colleges in Mirzapur Upazila. There are various species of fruit-forest and medicinal saplings including jam, mahogany, karai, neem, bakul, sonalu, jarul, krishna chura, kathal. In addition, one krishna chura, one jarul and one sonalu tree saplings have been planted in 170 government schools of the upazila. Fruit-forest and medicinal saplings have been planted to combat the impact of climate change and maintain environmental balance.
Teachers and students of each educational institution planted trees in a festive atmosphere.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Zulfiqar Haider said that fruit-forest and medicinal saplings are being planted in each educational institution with the funding of the Learning Acceleration in Secondary Education (LACE) project, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education and the Ministry of Education, and with the overall support of the upazila administration.
