To make the services of the Dhaka District Administration more accessible, swift, and citizen-friendly, the "Hello DC" Mobile App has been launched at the initiative of Dhaka Deputy Commissioner (DC) Farida Khanam on Tuesday.
The app was officially inaugurated at a ceremony held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. The platform allows citizens to access various district administration services, submit grievances and applications, and retrieve information from the comfort of their homes.
Initially, the app can be downloaded directly from hellodc.bd. Following review processes, it will also become available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Citizens can likewise download the app via the official Facebook page of the Dhaka District Administration to avail of services. Besides , direct phone calls can be made to 01961606060 daily between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
According to the district administration, the "Hello DC" app enables citizens to communicate directly with officials. Users can submit applications, complaints, and suggestions regarding land administration, law and order, relief, social security, licensing, and public grievances, while also tracking the status of their applications in real time.
The app also facilitates scheduling appointments to meet the Deputy Commissioner. A wide array of civic provisions—including NGO and licensing services, land mutations, vested properties, and financial assistance—are integrated into the single platform.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam stated that delivering government services directly to citizens' doorsteps is a core objective. She noted that this technology-driven initiative will reduce time, expenses, and public harassment, helping make the district administration more transparent, accountable, and service-oriented.
Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Miah, who attended as a guest, described the app as a timely step toward simplifying and modernizing public service delivery. He emphasized that the government is continuously working to maximize information technology to reduce public suffering and enhance service quality, noting that building an effective digital service ecosystem through rapid response to citizen feedback is the primary goal of the initiative.
District administration officials added that the app will be upgraded in phases, with plans to integrate additional services in the future to transform it into a comprehensive digital service hub.
