
6 fishermen rescued alive by Coast Guard from sinking fishing boat at Saint Martin

Bangladesh Coast Guard has recovered six fishermen alive from sinking fishing bost in the sea in Saint Martin in Cox's Bazar on Monday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Hoque provided this information through a press release.
The press release stated that a fishing boat named MV Abul Hashem went to the sea with 6 fishermen for fishing. Later, at 2:00 PM on Monday, while returning after fishing, due to strong waves and currents, the boat started sinking in the sea area adjacent to Shahpari’s Golar Char. At that time, a local fisherman informed the Coast Guard about the matter through a mobile phone. Based on the received information, Coast Guard Station Saint Martin immediately conducted a rescue operation and rescued 6 fishermen alive from the said area.
The rescued fishermen were given primary treatment and necessary food and then handed over to the boat owner’s side.
Bangladesh Coast Guard has been conducting regular operations to ensure overall security in coastal and riverine areas. Such activities will continue in the future as well.
