
8 Bangladeshis killed in tragic road accident in Oman, 7 from Sandwip

Eight Bangladeshi expatriates have been killed in a tragic road accident in Oman. It is reported that 7 of the deceased are from Sandwip upazila of Chittagong and another is from Raozan upazila.
The accident occurred on a highway in Oman in the early hours of Wednesday (Oct 8) local time. All the deceased were working as laborers.
Names and addresses of the deceased are: Amin Sawdagar, old house: Sarikait 2nd Ward (present Magadhara), Sandwip, Rocky, son of Ibrahim Mistry, house: Sarikait 2nd Ward, Sheikh Fazil's house, Sandwip.
Arju, son of Shahidullah, Sarikait 4th Ward, Sandwip. Bablu, house: Sarikait 2nd Ward, Sandwip. Sahabuddin, Home: Sarikait Ward, Jewel, Home: Maitbhanga, Sandwip,
Roni, Home: Municipality Ward 3 Lemu Hossain's Home and Alauddin of Raozan.
The death of the victims in the accident has cast a shadow of grief among their families and relatives. Expatriate Bangladeshis said that mourning began in the area as soon as the news of the accident spread.
The bodies of the victims have been kept at a local hospital and preparations are underway to send them home after completing the legal process, the expatriate Bangladeshis said.
UNO Mong Ching Nu Marma, OC Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury and representatives of various local political parties rushed to express their condolences to the families of the victims. Many of them expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of providing humanitarian assistance.
The family demands that the highest levels of the government play an effective role in ensuring that their bodies reach Bangladesh as soon as possible.
