Additional District Magistrate at view exchange meet on banning illegal sand, stone extraction.: Calls for return of looted stones of Bholaganj, Jaflong within the next two days

Representative: Sylhet Additional District Magistrate Farzana Akhter Mita has said that the white stones that have been looted recently from the zero point of Bholaganj and Jaflong stone quarries in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet, have been called upon to replace the looted white stones by August 26.
To maintain the natural beauty of Sylhet's tourist area, it is necessary to replant the stones in their designated locations.
We all need to come forward to protect the tourism industry of Sylhet. He called on the concerned to cooperate with the local administration in stopping illegal sand and stone mining in Jaintapur.
He assured that he would speak to the higher levels of the administration about the legal process of leasing the stone palaces mixed with sand and gravel in Sripur and Rangpani and take the next decision.
He made these remarks at a meeting with stakeholders on illegal sand mining organized by the upazila administration at the Jaintapur Upazila Parishad Hall on the afternoon of August 24.
It was presided over by Jaintapur Executive Officer George Mitra Chakma.
