Chattogram will be investment hub : Mayor Dr. Shahadat

Chattogram City Corporation ( CCC) is tirelessly working to transform Chattogram into one of the country's most investment-friendly cities, said Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain.
He stated, "Chattogram will become an investment paradise. This city will not only attract Bangladeshi investors but also become appealing to international investors."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the "Invest in Chattogram" event held at the Radisson Blu hotel on Wednesday. The event was organized by Skill Station.
The mayor further added that the city’s communication infrastructure is being modernized with an investment of 2,500 crore BDT. Various projects, including new road construction, flyovers, street lighting, and drainage system upgrades, are underway, which will directly support trade expansion.
Emphasizing the tourism sector, he said that Chattogram’s stunning natural beauty, rich heritage, and marine resources present immense potential for tourism. Properly expanding this sector could create new employment opportunities and further boost the local economy.
He also highlighted the importance of creating an investment-friendly environment to make Chattogram a smart and livable city. In line with this, efforts are being made to enhance urban management, services, infrastructure development, and technology integration.
During the event, Skill Station's co-founder, Al Muksid Alam Alvi, a student of York University in Toronto, Canada, discussed their company's future plans and technology-driven initiatives.
The event, sponsored by BSRM and Sajeenaz Hospital, was attended by the President of Chattogram Customs Agents Association S.M. Saiful Alam, Chattogram Press Club Member Secretary Zahidul Karim Kochi, along with various technology entrepreneurs and over two hundred investors.
