Coast Guard, Naval Police joint operation : 14 fishermen detained with one artisanal trawling boat in Kalapara

In a joint operation by Coast Guard, Department of Fisheries, and Naval Police in Kalapara, Patuakhali, one illegal artisanal trawling boat was seized with 14 fishermen
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Hoque shared the news in a press release on Friday morning.
The press release said, based on secret information, on Thursday at 1:00 AM, a joint operation was conducted in the Alipur-Mahipur adjacent area under Kalapara police station of Patuakhali, coordinated by Coast Guard Station Nijampur, the Department of Fisheries, and the Naval Police. During the operation, 1 illegal artisanal trawling boat along with 14 fishermen was detained from the area.
Later, the trawling equipment was removed from the seized boat, and the boat along with the detained fishermen was handed over to Mahipur police station for taking necessary legal action.
The press release further said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to protect fishery resources.
