The Coast Guard has arrested a notorious dacoit along with one locally made firearm, one round of fresh ammunition, and foreign currency in Mehendiganj in Barishal
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq informed the matter on Wednesday morning.
The press release said, based on secret information, today, Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at 7:00 AM, a special operation was conducted in Dorir Char Khajuria area under Mehendiganj Police Station, Barisal, by Coast Guard Station Hizla and Kaliganj. During the operation, one locally made firearm, one round of fresh ammunition, one Chinese axe, various foreign currencies, and yaba-taking equipment were recovered, and the notorious robber Naim (29) was arrested.
The arrested robber is a resident of Dorir Char Khajuria area under Mehendiganj Police Station, Barishal.
The arrested robber and all seized evidence were handed over to Mehendiganj Police Station for further legal action.
The press release also said that to maintain the law-and-order situation of the country, Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
