Bangladesh Coast Guard organized a workshop and public awareness program on  “Youth Festival-2025” in Paturia, Manikganj, focusing on pre-cyclone preparedness and post-cyclone actions on Tuesday. 

 Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid confirmed this information through a press release.

The press release said,  since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been tirelessly working to maintain law and order in remote coastal and riverine areas, address natural disasters, and support helpless people during and after disasters. All Coast Guard zones, ships, boats, stations, outposts, and Disaster Response and Rescue Teams are kept ready to handle any situation during and after cyclones. The Coast Guard’s medical teams and diving teams also prepare for post-disaster scenarios. To manage emergencies in coastal areas during and after natural disasters, the Coast Guard operates zone-based control rooms round-the-clock. Additionally, various programs are organized to raise awareness among fishermen and local communities in coastal and riverine areas.

As part of these efforts, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday,  Bangladesh Coast Guard Dhaka Zone conducted a workshop and public awareness program titled “Youth Festival-2025” on pre-cyclone preparedness and post-cyclone actions at Aricha Belayet Hossain High School in the Aricha Ghat area of Shivalaya Upazila, Manikganj. Sixty students from the school participated in the workshop, which included discussions on pre-cyclone preparedness and post-cyclone measures.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such workshops and awareness programs in the future to protect lives and property in coastal and riverine areas and to address natural disasters.
