Cooperative society disappeared with crores of taka , victims form human chain in Pirojpur

A fraudster has embezzled crores of taka from customers in the name of a cooperative society.
The affected customers have formed a human chain to get their deposits back. The affected customers formed an hour-long human chain on the road in front of Nazirpur Press Club on Monday noon.
In Nazirpur Upazila, the Swadesh Savings and Loan Cooperative Society started its work by registering with the Cooperative Society in 2017. After that, a fraudster named Suman Mondal went missing after swindling nearly crores of taka from customers in the name of these three societies, New Swadesh Savings and Loan Cooperative Society and Khejurtala Shraamjibi Cooperative Society. The aggrieved customers have formed a human chain demanding exemplary punishment for Suman Mondal and getting their money back from him.
The customers who were affected by the human chain said that they had been depositing money in these associations for a long time. But after keeping the money for a long time, when they tried to get the money back, Sumon started making excuses. After going back and forth year after year, they were helpless and did not get the money, so they took to the streets to protest.
The affected customers are seeking immediate intervention of the administration to get their money back.
Victims Jhumur Majumdar, Sunny Sheikh, Kabita Haldar, Artu Haldar, and Sujit Majumdar spoke at the human chain.
