DC inaugurates construction work of Eco Park in Araihazar

The construction work of the proposed eco park project has been inaugurated on the banks of the Meghna River adjacent to the Bishnandi Ferry Ghat in Araihazar, Narayanganj, with the assistance of the upazila administration.
Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah inaugurated the foundation stone of the project on Thursday.
Araihazar UNO. Sheikh Md. Mamunur Rashid, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nayeemuddin, Upazila Engineer Saiful Islam, Project Implementation Officer Anisur Rahman and officials from various departments were present at the time.
Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah said that for a long time, some people had been occupying government land forcibly for 70 years.
With the assistance of the upazila administration, 23 acres of occupied land have been released.
He said that this eco-park, which will be built on that land to preserve natural beauty and create opportunities for public entertainment, will play an important role in the development of eco-friendly tourism. Once the construction of this park is completed, it will become an attractive destination for the larger population of Narayanganj district in addition to local tourism.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah inspected various puja mandap of Araihazar Municipality and distributed checks and rice to the president and general secretary of the puja mandap on the occasion of puja.
