
Discussion between Gaibandha Jamaat leaders, journalists held at Press Club

A view exchange meeting was held on Thursday afternoon between journalists of Gaibandha Press Club and the district unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
The discussion centered on Jamaat’s ongoing movement and their five-point demands, including elections in February based on the July National Charter.
The meeting, held at the Press Club auditorium, was addressed by District Jamaat Ameer and Gaibandha-2 (Sadar) Constituency candidate Maulana Abdul Karim Sarkar, and Assistant Secretary Faisal Kabir Rana. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Humayun Farhan Sadiq, president of the city unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir. The meeting was conducted by Maulana Jobair Ali.
District Ameer said, the people of Bangladesh, since August 5, 2024, have begun to dream of a new future free from exploitation, inequality, and oppression. People aspire to see a humane Bangladesh, he remarked. He further emphasized that the upcoming 13th National Election must be held under the Proportional Representation (PR) system, for which Jamaat is waging a nationwide movement.
The district Ameer also outlined Jamaat’s five-point demands including hilding the next national election in February based on the July National Charter, introduction of the PR system in both houses of the national parliament, ensuring a level playing field for all parties to hold free, fair, and credible elections, visible justice for all acts of oppression, mass killings, and corruption committed by the fascist regime and bnning the activities of the autocratic ally Jatiya Party and the 14-Party Alliance..
