Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam has taken an exceptional field-level initiative to ensure the achievement of land development tax collection targets in the district. 

As part of this drive, she conducted sudden inspection visits to the Gulshan and Tejgaon Revenue Circles on Tuesday  and later visited the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) office, which is recognized as a major taxpayer institution.

The sudden visits were aimed at intensifying field-level monitoring to fulfill the revenue collection targets set by the Ministry of Land and to supervise the quality of public services. During her tour, the Deputy Commissioner comprehensively reviewed the progress of outstanding land development tax collection, public service delivery mechanisms, and the overall revenue management system.

While inspecting the circles, DC Farida Khanam interacted directly with service seekers who had gathered at the offices, inquiring about their experiences, grievances, and any difficulties they faced in obtaining services. 

Upon hearing complaints from several citizens regarding complexities in paying land development tax and processing land mutations (namjari), the DC immediately directed the concerned officials to take prompt remedial action.

 She strictly warned the officers to ensure transparency, accountability, and a completely harassment-free environment for the public.

Emphasizing the importance of revenue generation, the Deputy Commissioner stated that revenue plays an indispensable role in executing state development projects. She urged both public and private organizations to remain conscious and responsible regarding the timely payment of land development taxes, asserting that any negligence or laxity in revenue collection will not be tolerated.

She further added that the revenue management framework is being made more dynamic in alignment with the government's ongoing efforts to build a transparent, accountable, and service-oriented administration under the leadership of the Prime Minister. 

Regular field-level monitoring and direct communication will be continuously strengthened to bolster revenue collection operations.
