DSE witnesses highest trading of Tk789.6 crore turnover this year

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country's prime stock market, saw the highest turnover this year on Thursday.
At the close of trading on Thursday, the DSE's turnover amounted to Tk 789.6 crore. This marks the first time this year that the market's daily turnover has reached the Tk 700-crore threshold. It also represents the highest turnover in the Dhaka market in approximately the last eight and a half months.
According to DSE data, an upward trend in turnover has been observed over the past few days. This latest figure is the highest DSE turnover since November of last year.
Previously, the DSE market recorded a turnover of Tk 840 crore on November 5 of last year.
Alongside the increased turnover, the DSEX, the main index of the Dhaka market, has also reached its highest level in the past three months.
On Thursday, the index rose by 55 points, or more than 1 percent, to stand at 5,117 points.
On this day, among the traded company shares, prices increased for 267, decreased for 79 and remained unchanged for 51.
