
Foreign liquor worth Tk 1.64 lakh seized in Shyamnagar

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized foreign liquor worth about Tk 1,64,000 in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira.
The information was provided by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid through a press release issued on Thursday night.
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted at 3 PM on Thursday by BCG Station Koikhali in the Payratoni canal of the Mamunda River under Shyamnagar police station. During the operation, 41 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered in an abandoned state, valued at Tk 1,64,000.
Legal procedures regarding the seized liquor are currently underway.
To maintain national law and order, the Bangladesh Coast Guard continues to patrol 24/7. As a result, law and order in coastal and riverside areas under the Coast Guard’s jurisdiction has significantly improved. The Coast Guard has pledged to continue such operations in the future.
